John R. Ferretti Jr. currently serves as the Chief Deputy County Clerk for the County of Nassau, Chief Deputy Clerk for the Supreme Court and County Court of Nassau, and Nassau County Chief Deputy Land Registrar. Mr. Ferretti’s responsibilities include overseeing over 100 staff members with a $6 million budget and annual revenue collection exceeding $240 million dollars for federal, state, and local governments. Mr. Ferretti serves as liaison to the New York State Land Title Association and works with officials from federal, state and local levels of government on wide-ranging issues in the application of law and policy. In 2012, Mr. Ferretti assisted in drafting and implementing state and local legislation waiving clerk recording fees for victims of Super Storm Sandy.

After being admitted to the New York State Bar in 2009, Mr. Ferretti entered private practice as an associate trial attorney with the 40-year-old Mineola based law firm Nicolini, Paradise, Ferretti & Sabella where he gained valuable legal training and trial experience. Mr. Ferretti is currently “of counsel” to the firm, where he specializes in real estate law and zoning and land use. 

In November, 2016, Mr. Ferretti was appointed by the Hempstead Town Board to the Hempstead Industrial Development Agency, where he has proposed and successfully lobbied for procedural changes to ensure additional transparency and tax savings for the residents of the Town of Hempstead. Mr. Ferretti voted in favor of rescinding the Green Acres Mall PILOT, effectively lowering the taxes for residents of Valley Stream.

Mr. Ferretti is an active member of the community. He is a member of the Levittown Kiwanis, Levittown Chamber of Commerce, Levittown Knights of Columbus, Irish Americans in Government, the Nassau County Bar Association and the New York State Bar Association.  He is a parishioner at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church and an assistant coach for the Levittown West little league.

After working his way through the Levittown Public School system, Mr. Ferretti obtained a Bachelor’s degree from Hofstra University and a Juris Doctorate from CUNY School of Law. In addition to being licensed to practice law in the State of New York, he is admitted in the Federal Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.

A lifelong resident of Nassau County, Mr. Ferretti moved with his parents to Levittown when he was one year old. After graduating Law School, Mr. Ferretti purchased a home in Levittown where he currently resides with his wife Maryellen and their two children, Johnny and Natalie.
